APPLE SAUCE

INGREDIENTS

3 lbs apples (I love to use honey crisp) 

3 lbs pears (Asian pears work well, too) 

lemon peel from 1 whole lemon

3 tbsp lemon juice

3 cinnamon sticks

EQUIPMENT

peeler

sharp knife

measuring spoons

dutch oven

masher

METHOD

PREHEAT oven to 350F.

PEEL & CUT all the apples and pears and place in a dutch oven or slow cooker.

ADD the lemon peel, lemon juice, and cinnamon sticks.

COVER and bake for 1.5 hours in the dutch oven OR 5-6 hours on LOW in a slow cooker.

REMOVE peel and cinnamon sticks.

MASH the ingredients to create your apple sauce.
