SHORT RIBS

INGREDIENTS

1 cup red wine

⅔ cup ketchup

3 tbsp tamari or soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, crushed

⅓ cup brown sugar

½ tsp black ground pepper

4 lbs beef short ribs, with and without bone

1 medium onion, chopped

EQUIPMENT

measuring cups & spoons

whisk

dutch oven or slow cooker with lid

tongs

METHOD

COMBINE the wine, ketchup, tamari, garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper in slow cooker or dutch oven

MIX until smooth

ADD ribs one-by-one, using tongs, to make sure they get coated in the sauce

DISTRIBUTE the onions over the ribs

COVER and cook on low for 7 hours in the slow cooker or for 4 hours in a dutch oven at 325F
